About
Isabgol (Psyllium)
Psyllium is a form of fibre made from the husks of the Plantago ovata plant’s seeds. It sometimes goes by the name Ispaghula.
Psyllium is mainly used as a dietary fibre to relieve symptoms of both
constipation and mild diarrhoea, and occasionally as a food thickener.
It is most commonly known as laxative. However, research shows that
taking psyllium is beneficial to many parts of the human body,
including the heart and the pancreas.
As an apex body, we represent the Manufacturers of the
Psyllium Industries. Our association consists of 40 manufacturers
from India. The organization is coming forward with the
intention of developing trade both domestically and internationally,
bringing in farmers, and increasing foreign exchange through exports.
The organization has been active for a long time.
Psyllium is a crop mainly produced in India, which is known as a
natural fibre around the world. India is the sole country producing and
exporting it. Although some neighbouring countries produce a small
amount, they mainly export it through India. This makes us the only
supplier of Psyllium with no major competition.
